A Person Of High Blood Pressure Is More Prone To Heart Attack

26 Jan

Heart is the primary organ responsible for the distribution of blood throughout the various parts of the body and different organs, the blood is carried by blood vessels and arteries. On the other hand the force that enables blood pushed through the arteries is called blood pressure.

There are two important components that are measured to identify blood pressure and these are the diastolic and systolic. Diastolic is the pressure of the heart that is at rest or inactive, it is that between beats on the contrary systolic is the pressure of the heart that is active and pumping blood into the coronary arteries. Diastolic is that number at the lower end while systolic is at the upper part.

Different individuals records different blood pressure readings yet there is a basis that is common to all medical practitioners in order to know the range of the normal blood pressure. A person’s healthy body will record a blood pressure of 120/80 mm Hg. If both the diastolic and systolic are too high or too low then the person is diagnosed with hypertension or high blood pressure.

Heart attack is a condition that many individuals may have. This causes a permanent tear in the heart muscles brought about by the lack of blood flowing to the heart. The heart is surrounded by multiple coronary arteries, and this is where oxygen flows into the heart through the blood. It is important that the heart is supplied with sufficient oxygen through the blood because if the coronary artery is blocked or is narrow for blood to flow into it, clots and spasms will take in effect that result to heart attack. Without sufficient oxygen, some portions of the heart muscles blocks will be injured heavily.

The association of high blood pressure and heart attack is strongly connected thus a person who has hypertension is more prone to heart attacks. The insufficient supply of blood carrying oxygen causes tiny clots to occur in the coronary arteries and with blood pressure forcing blood to the arteries, the damage would be so great that it puts one at risk of heart failure, stroke, kidney complications and cardiovascular diseases.

The association between these two health conditions cannot be denied. The problem with high blood pressure is that it is a concealed condition meaning there are no obvious symptoms that can help one detect whether he or she has high blood pressure other than to be examined by a doctor.
